2.7.0 · Helm v2.7.0 - Halloween Edition · 1y+

Boo! Happy Halloween from the Helm team! 👻 🎃 🕷

Helm 2.7.0 is a feature release. Similar to Helm 2.6.0, we have focused on stability and reliability in this release, limiting our enhancements to things that improve the reliability of Helm in production.

This version of Helm is compiled against Kubernetes 1.8. There are also additional features like --node-selectors and --output flags to helm init as well as a new secrets storage backend (in beta)!

The community keeps growing, and we'd love to see you there.

Installation and Upgrading

Download Helm 2.7. The common platform binaries are here:

Once you have the client installed, upgrade Tiller with helm init --upgrade.

The Quickstart Guide will get you going from there. For upgrade instructions or detailed installation notes, check the install guide. You can also use a script to install on any system with bash.

What's Next

  • 2.7.1 will contain only bug fixes.
  • 2.8.0 is the next feature release. While it is likely to have some notable features, we will continue to prioritize stability and reliability over major feature additions. It will likely land shortly after Kubernetes 1.9 has landed on December 13th.
